What does TiviMate error 458 mean?
TiviMate is a player. It does not host channels; it asks your IPTV provider's server for a stream and plays what comes back. When the server refuses the request, the app shows the code the server sent. 458 is not a standard HTTP status code, so there is no single official definition. Users and providers most often report it when the server will not serve the account at that moment: too many simultaneous connections, an expired or suspended subscription, an overloaded server, or a block between you and the server.
Your device
TiviMate on a Firestick, Android TV box or phone requests a channel.
Your network
Router, DNS and ISP carry the request. A block here can also stop it.
Provider server
Checks the account and connections, then refuses with code 458.
That is why reinstalling the app alone rarely fixes it. The useful question is which of the three boxes above is refusing, and the steps below answer it in order.
TiviMate error 458: causes and fixes
| Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Too many devices streaming on one account (connection limit reached) | Stop playback on every other device that uses the same login, wait a minute and try again. Ask your provider how many connections your plan allows. |
| Subscription expired, suspended or not active yet | Check the expiry date and account status with your provider and renew or reactivate the account. |
| Provider server overloaded, in maintenance or down (common during big live events) | Try a few other channels. If many fail at once, wait and retry later, and ask your provider if there is an outage. |
| Provider changed its server URL or DNS | Ask the provider for the current server URL or M3U link and edit or re-add the playlist with it. |
| Your ISP or network blocks the IPTV server | Test on another network such as a phone hotspot, restart the router and try a different DNS server. If it works elsewhere, tell your provider. |
| Old playlist data or a corrupted app cache | Update the playlist, clear the app cache and restart the device. |
| Wrong date and time on the device | Turn on automatic date and time so secure connections and account checks do not fail. |
How to fix TiviMate error code 458 (9 steps)
Work through the steps in order. Test a channel after each one so you know which step fixed it.
Step 1: Restart the device and the router
Fully power off the Firestick, Android TV box or TV and unplug the router for 30 seconds. This clears stuck sessions on your side and gives you a fresh connection to the provider.
Step 2: Stop streams on your other devices
Error 458 is most often reported when an account is already in use. Close the IPTV app on phones, tablets and other TVs that share the same login, wait one or two minutes and play the channel again.
Step 3: Check your subscription with the provider
Confirm the account is active, paid and not expired or suspended. Many providers show the expiry date in their customer area or can tell you in a support message.
Step 4: Update or reload the playlist
Open the playlist settings in TiviMate and run an update so the app downloads the current channel list and stream addresses from the provider. If the provider gave you a new server URL, edit the playlist or add it again.
Step 5: Clear the app cache
On a Fire TV go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, select the app and choose Clear cache. On Android TV use Settings > Apps, select the app and choose Clear cache. Clear data only if needed, because it removes your saved playlists.
Step 6: Test another network and DNS
Connect the device to a phone hotspot and try again. If the channel plays there, your ISP or home network is blocking or slowing the server. Try a different DNS server on the router or device and tell your provider.
Step 7: Check the date and time
Set the device to automatic date and time. A wrong clock can make secure connections and account checks fail.
Step 8: Contact your IPTV provider
Send the provider the error code 458, the channel name, the time it happened and the device you use. Only the provider can see why their server refused your connection.
Step 9: Test the same login in a different player
Add the same server URL, username and password (or M3U link) to a second IPTV player. If error 458 or a similar refusal appears there too, the cause is the account or the server, not TiviMate.
How to fix TiviMate error code 458 on Firestick
On a Firestick or Fire TV the code is shown by the IPTV app, not by Fire OS, so the fix is the same as on Android TV. Three Fire TV specific checks help:
- Restart from Settings > My Fire TV > Restart, or unplug the stick for 30 seconds.
- Clear the cache from Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, then select the app.
- Check the connection under Settings > Network, then test the same stick on a phone hotspot to rule out an ISP block.
If error 458 still appears on every channel after these steps, the account or the provider's server is the cause. Send the provider the code, the channel and the time it happened.
Try a different player to rule out the app
A second IPTV player is the quickest way to prove where the problem is. Add the same login to it: if the stream plays, TiviMate or its saved data is the issue; if you get a similar refusal, the account or server is, and only your provider can fix it. A different player will not fix an expired account or a connection limit.
The Xtream-Masters IPTV Player is a simple way to run this test. It signs in with an Xtream Codes login, an M3U/M3U8 playlist or a single stream URL, needs no sign-up and stores your login on the device. It does not include any channels or playlists, so you use the same details your provider gave you. It is free to download (the Windows app has a free trial, then a licence per device, see xm-player.com).
