IBO Player Not Working? How to Fix IBO Pro Player and Playlist Problems in 2027

IBO Player or IBO Pro Player will not load your playlist on a Samsung or LG TV, Fire TV or Android box? Here is how to tell whether the app, the playlist link to your device, your IPTV account or your network is the problem, and how to fix each one.

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Short answer When IBO Player is not working, the cause is usually an ended app trial or activation, an expired IPTV subscription, a playlist added for a different device (MAC address mismatch), a wrong playlist URL, or the provider's server or your network. Restart the TV and router, check activation and subscription, then re-add the playlist.

IBO Player not working: which part is failing?

"Not working" can mean four different things, and each has a different owner. Start by matching what you see on screen:

The app will not open or freezes

App or TV side: restart the TV at the wall, update or reinstall the app, check the date and time.

Trial ended or activation message

App licence: handled by the app developer, not by your IPTV provider.

No playlist or an empty playlist

Playlist link: added for another device or app, a typo in the URL, or an expired IPTV account.

Playlist loads but channels do not play

Provider or network: server down, account limit or expiry, or an ISP or DNS block.

IBO Player not working: causes and fixes

Likely causeWhat to do
The app trial or activation has ended (separate from your IPTV subscription)Check the status shown in the app. App activation is handled by the app developer, not by your IPTV provider.
Your IPTV subscription expired, was suspended or not activated yetAsk your IPTV provider to check the account status and expiry date.
The playlist was added for a different device (MAC address or device key does not match)Compare the MAC address and device key on the TV screen with the ones you used when adding the playlist. After a new TV or a reinstall they can change. Add the playlist again for the correct device.
The playlist was added for a different app with a similar nameSeveral players use similar names. Make sure the playlist was added for the exact app installed on your TV.
Wrong playlist URL or login (missing http://, wrong port, typo, extra space)Re-enter the M3U link or the server URL, username and password exactly as your provider sent them.
Provider server down or server URL changedIf no channel loads, ask the provider about outages and whether the playlist URL has changed.
Internet, DNS or ISP blocking the serverTest on a phone hotspot, restart the router and try a different DNS server.
Old app version, stuck cache or wrong date and timeUpdate the app from your TV's app store, switch the TV off at the wall, set automatic date and time, or reinstall the app.

How to fix IBO Player not working (9 steps)

Work through the steps in order and test after each one.

Step 1: Find out what exactly is not working

Note whether the app does not open, opens with no playlist, shows the playlist but no channels load, or only some channels fail. Each points to a different cause: the app itself, the playlist link to your device, the provider account, or single streams.

Step 2: Restart the TV and the router

Switch the TV or streaming device off at the wall for one minute, not just standby, and unplug the router for 30 seconds. This clears stuck app sessions and network problems on your side.

Step 3: Check the app activation or trial

Many TV players run a trial and then need an activation from the app developer. If the app shows that the trial or activation has ended, that is an app licence issue, not a problem with your IPTV subscription.

Step 4: Check your IPTV subscription

Ask your IPTV provider whether the account is active, paid and not expired or suspended, and whether the playlist URL or server has changed.

Step 5: Confirm the playlist is on the right device

If your app shows a MAC address and a device key on its start screen, compare them character by character with the details you used when adding the playlist. A new TV, a reset or a reinstall can give a different MAC or key. Add the playlist again for the device you are using.

Step 6: Re-enter the playlist URL or login

Use the M3U link or the server URL, username and password exactly as your provider sent them. A server URL normally looks like http://example.com:8080, with http:// and the port and no spaces.

Step 7: Reload the playlist and clear the cache

Use the app's option to reload or refresh the playlist. On Fire TV clear the cache under Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications; on Android TV under Settings > Apps. Many Smart TVs have no per-app cache button, so switching off at the wall or reinstalling does the same job.

Step 8: Test another network and DNS

Connect the TV to a phone hotspot. If channels load there, your ISP, router or DNS is blocking or slowing the provider's server. Try a different DNS server in the TV or router settings and tell your provider.

Step 9: Update or reinstall the app

Update the app from your TV's app store, or uninstall and reinstall it. Check the date, time and time zone in the TV settings afterwards. Write down your playlist details first, and check that the MAC address and device key are still the same.

Before you reinstall or reset: write down your playlist URL or login and take a photo of the MAC address and device key on screen. You need them to add the playlist again, and to spot if they changed.

IBO Pro Player playlist not working

If the app opens but your playlist is missing, empty or will not load, the problem is almost always the link between the playlist and your device, or the playlist itself:

  • The MAC address or device key you used does not match the one on the TV screen, for example after a new TV, a factory reset or a reinstall.
  • The playlist was added for a different app with a similar name.
  • The M3U link or the server URL, username and password has a typo, a missing http://, a wrong port or a space at the end.
  • The IPTV subscription has expired, or the provider changed the playlist URL.

Fix the item that matches, then use the app's reload or refresh playlist option and restart the TV. If the playlist loads but nothing plays, see the provider-side errors in our guides to error 458 and error code 404, which apply to most IPTV players.

Try a different player to rule out the app

A second IPTV player shows quickly whether the app or the IPTV account is the problem. Add the same M3U link or server URL, username and password to it. If it plays, the problem is IBO Player, its activation or its saved data. If it fails there too, the account or server is the cause and only your provider can fix it. A different player cannot fix an expired subscription.

The Xtream-Masters IPTV Player is a simple way to run this test. It signs in with an Xtream Codes login, an M3U/M3U8 playlist or a single stream URL, needs no sign-up and stores your login on the device. It does not include any channels or playlists. It is free to download (the Windows app has a free trial, then a licence per device, see xm-player.com).

Samsung and LG TV owners, to be clear: there is no Xtream-Masters player app for Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) TVs. To test on your TV screen, plug an Android TV box or a Fire TV stick into the TV's HDMI port. You can also test the playlist on an Android phone, an iPhone or a Windows PC.

IBO Player Questions

IBO Player Not Working: FAQ

01

Why is my IBO Player not working?

The most common reasons are an ended app trial or activation, an expired IPTV subscription, a playlist added for a different device (MAC address or device key mismatch), a wrong playlist URL, the provider's server being down, or an internet or DNS block. Restart the TV and router, check the activation and the subscription, then re-add the playlist for the correct device.

02

Why is my IBO Pro Player playlist not working?

If the app opens but the playlist is missing or empty, the playlist was usually added for another device or app, the M3U link or login has a typo, or the IPTV account has expired. Compare the MAC address and device key on screen with the ones you used, re-enter the link exactly as your provider sent it, and ask the provider to check the account.

03

How to clear cache on IBO Player?

On Fire TV go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, select the app and choose Clear cache. On Android TV use Settings > Apps. Many Samsung and LG TVs have no per-app cache button, so switch the TV off at the wall for a minute or uninstall and reinstall the app. Use the app's reload playlist option as well.

04

Is IBO Player safe to use?

We cannot audit third-party apps. As with any player, install it only from your TV's official app store or the developer's official source, avoid modified APKs and unofficial activation sellers, and keep your login private. A player contains no channels; what you watch depends on your IPTV provider.

05

How do I activate my IBO Player Pro?

App activation is handled by the app's developer, not by your IPTV provider or by Xtream-Masters. Follow the activation instructions shown in the app or on the developer's official support page, and be careful with third-party sellers of activation codes.

06

Which IBO player app is best?

Several apps use similar IBO names. Use the one your IPTV provider or the developer's official site points you to, and check the reviews in your TV's app store. To compare with a different player, the Xtream-Masters IPTV Player runs on Android, Android TV, Fire TV, iPhone, iPad and Windows, but not on Samsung or LG TVs.

07

Why are some channels not working in IBO Player while others play?

If most channels play, the app and the account are fine. The failing channels are offline, removed or moved by the provider, or blocked on your network. Reload the playlist, test on a phone hotspot and report the channels to your provider.

08

Will a different IPTV player fix IBO Player not working?

Only if the problem is the app, its activation or its saved data. An expired IPTV account or a server outage fails in every player. A second player is a useful test: if the same playlist works there, the problem is with the app; if it fails too, contact your provider.
